    Home > Materials > Titanium > CPUA CPUA Titanium Commercially Pure and Unalloyed Titanium Alloys are used in industries where their combined high corrosion resistance and good formability is a necessary requirement, but ultimate strength is not. Commercially Pure Titanium Alloys are those which have a Titanium content of no less than 99%, with additional interstitials containing controlled amounts of Nitrogen, Carbon, Hydrogen, Iron and Oxygen making up the balance. The traditionally termed Commercially Pure grades are Grades 1-4. Grade 1 Titanium has the greatest corrosion resistance and formability with a relatively low strength. The pattern reverses through Grades 2 and 3 until we reach Grade 4 Titanium, which is the strongest Commercially Pure Alloy, but with only moderate formability. Grades 7, 11, 16, and 17 are included in the CPUA category because they only contain trace amounts of Palladium (Max. 0.25%) to increase corrosion resistance. Additionally, Grade 26 is included as it possesses similar mechanical qualities to Grades 7 respectively, but with Ruthenium replacing its Palladium.     Home > Shapes > Wire Wire Wire is a mill product directly related to rods and bars. The differing factor here is that they are typically drawn from rod, rather than extruded as a finer bore. Wires are available in a range of additional shapes to the round wire which we're accustomed to, including but not limited to; square, flat, triangular, oval, hexagonal, etc. The dimensional limitations on the definition of "wire" are not more than 25.4mm for round products and 13mm for square. ​ There is a broad range of different wire types for different applications, all requiring different properties. These include; structural wire for uses such as cables for bridges - requiring high tensile strength and good corrosion resistance, spring steel, for automotive suspension and mattresses, requiring good elasticity and material memory, and electrical wires - needing both tensile strength to support themselves over large spans, and good electrical conductivity. ​ We supply all grades of Wire listed below.     Home > Materials > Aluminium > 5xxx 5xxx Series Aluminium The primary alloying element of 5xxx Series Aluminium Alloys is Magnesium, which helps to create moderate to high-strength alloys, with the highest strength of all non-heat-treatable alloys. For applications where temperatures exceed 65℃, alloys featuring no more than 3.5% Magnesium are recommended, in addition to a lower temper, to stave off stress corrosion cracking. ​ They are a precipitation hardened alloy, with properties similar to 3xxx series, but with higher strength and improved corrosion resistance. In this vein, plates tempered to H116 and H321 offer excellent saline corrosion protection and are used extensively in the marine industry. Additionally, this series is easy to anodize, which offers greater corrosion resistance, as well as offering different colour options. ​ As a grade regarded as “general purpose” they find themselves used in many different industries including; architecture and construction, automotive, marine, shipbuilding, bridge construction, electronics, electronics and energy. ​ All alloys are readily weldable, with 5xxx Series Alloys offering the strongest weld strength of all Aluminium Alloys.
