Petrochemical, Oil, & Gas
The world of Petro-Chemical engineering is unquestionably a most testing industry for engineering materials. Not only is there the severe corrosion threat from chemicals used in the refining of oil into petrol, there's also the fact that oil is often mined at sea - being brought up from below the sea bed - compounding the issues of corrosion by adding salt water into the mix. In addition to this, high temperatures are demanded, which must also be cooled to maintain machinery's lifespan and increase mechanical efficiency.
Materials used in the Petro-Chemical Industry must be resistant to corrosion from saline solutions, aqeuous solutions and corrosive chemical attack as well as high temperatures, high pressures and the forces of drilling and tidal activity. As one might expect, the materials required are very specialised, but rest assured that Integ Metals have the capability of supplying all of your material leads, complete with mill certificates, if required.
The materials and applications on this page are listed solely as a guide and do not reflect the limit of our supply, or the uses of said materials. If you have a specific application for which you need particular materials, please do not hesitate to contact us.
