8xxx Series Aluminium
The 8xxx Series of Aluminium Alloys is reserved for alloys of miscellaneous elements. Chiefly, these are Lithium, Tin and Iron. Alloys in this series are usually created to meet specific purposes, and, therefore, the aforementioned alloying elements are added in various increments to meet specific mechanical needs.
The addition of Lithium to Aluminium achieves lower density and higher stiffness, Iron and Cerium additions improve elevated-temperature performance, whilst Tin has found itself extremely useful in the world of powder metallurgy, where powdered Aluminium/Tin Alloys show greater strength and fatigue resistance than comparable cast alloys.
These grades are used in the aeronautical industry, for food packaging, medication blister packaging, heat exchangers, chemical processing equipment, and automotive components.
We supply all grades of 8xxx Series Alloys found below, in all the displayed shapes, so please feel free to contact us with your direct requirements.
