4xxx Series Aluminium

4xxx Series Aluminium Alloys feature silicon as their main alloying element. The silicon content ranges from 1.4% to around 13%, which serves to increase the strength of 4xxx series alloys correlative to the silicon addition, at the expense of ductility.

These alloys have good mechanical strength, corrosion resistance similar to that of 3xxx series, decent machinability when an oil-based lubricant is used, and very good weldability

4xxx Series Alloys are used to create high-performance race car components including pistons, engine components, and chassis components, whilst also being a family synonymous for creating welding rods and brazing plates.

We supply 5 grades of 4xxx Series Alloys, so please feel free to read more below, or contact us with your direct requirements.
